Fort Thompson Health Center
Dental & Optometry Addition
A new chapter in community healthcare, built by Red Lake Construction.
In Fort Thompson, South Dakota, Red Lake Construction has brought new dental and optometry spaces to life for the Indian Health Service.
From clinical treatment areas to the building systems behind them, this project brings together the careful coordination, craftsmanship, and attention to detail that healthcare construction demands.
For our team, the finished spaces represent more than a construction milestone. They represent work with a lasting purpose: supporting care for the community.

The closeout photographs show the range of spaces and systems brought together in the new addition.

The final walkthrough took place, and IHS confirmed the October 14 occupancy/warranty milestone, according to the project manager’s update.
Remaining punch work, equipment installation and training are scheduled to wrap up, followed by final billing.
Approximately 18 months from the ceremonial groundbreaking to the occupancy/warranty milestone. This is a milestone span, not the contractual Notice-to-Proceed period. As of October 16, final punch work and administrative closeout remained in progress.
We’re proud of the people who helped bring this project to life, and of the opportunity to build spaces that serve the Fort Thompson community.
